EvoEnergy are in a period of growth and expansion and are currently looking to add to our current team of technicians for planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across our portfolio of Solar PV installations.

The role will be to attend sites across the country of both residential properties and commercial PV installations that are maintained to ensure system performance remains high, the system is operating safely and the mechanical integrity is sound. Applicants must have working knowledge of Solar PV systems and be able to offer an experience level of fault finding and rectification skills within the industry with a strong electrical background and qualifications. The position may also be required to support installation teams.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Carry out inspections and repairs on Solar PV and other electrical systems from our nationwide portfolio (residential and commercial)
  • Understand site plans and layout drawings of the installations
  • Understand and work to Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Be able to work ‘on roof’ to inspect and work on Solar PV arrays
  • Understand the dangers of working with Solar PV (DC power and principles)
  • Good electrical knowledge of Solar PV systems to be able to determine faults and issues and fix where possible
  • Work as part of a wider engineering/installation team to meet timescales and deadlines
  • Work at height appreciation and safety knowledge
  • Ability to lead from the front and take charge of the roof installation with additional labour, working with other team members to ensure compliance with safety, quality and time lines are met
  • Work with Service Delivery team, Project Managers and other stakeholders to meet contractual requirements, safety & quality standards
  • Compile reports from sites visited and inspected in a timely manner and follow up with technical advice on recommendations

Essential Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • NVQ level 3 or City & Guilds 2368
  • Full clean driving licence
  • BS7671 18th Edition
  • 2391 Inspection & testing
  • CSCS/ECS card
  • experience within a similar role
  • Self starter with personal drive
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Attention to detail & considerate of implications
  • Good time keeping
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Word & Excel
  • Honest, professional & approachable
  • Willing to work hard & encourage good behaviours in others
  • Team player, happy to back others up and contribute to joint success
  • Eager to learn
  • Willing to embrace new ideas and technologies that the business may develop over time

Desirable Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Understanding of / experience in as many of the services and technologies that we offer as possible.
  • Experience in roof mounted Solar PV & electrical systems AC/DC
