This month, EvoEnergy will begin work installing a 3.8 MWp solar PV system on the rooftop of leading global workplace supplier, Lyreco, based in Telford. The project once complete is understood to be the 4th largest commercial rooftop solar PV system in the UK.
The solar PV system will be owned and operated by Addison Energy Limited – a company funded by Guinness Asset Management’s EIS service – through a 20 year power purchase agreement.
In total, 13,860 Trina Solar 275W panels will be installed on the huge rooftop that, in size, is equivalent to 7.5 Old Trafford football pitches. The system will help reduce Lyreco’s environmental impact by 1,700 tonnes of CO2 per year whilst also generating around 3.22 GWh in annual output.
EvoEnergy have also demonstrated their innovation expertise by using two large 1.65MW central inverters more commonly used for solar farms, bringing ground mount technology to the rooftop for the first time.
James Clifford, National Account Manager for EvoEnergy, commented:
“We are delighted to be working with leading global companies, Lyreco & Guinness, to deliver one of the UK’s largest rooftop solar installations and bringing together our expertise in electrical, mechanical and civil engineering.”
EvoEnergy will be setting up a time-lapse camera to capture the journey of this prestigious installation. Watch this space for further details and updates on this project.
