About EvoEnergy
EvoEnergy design, supply and install solar photovoltaic (PV) and solar thermal systems for homes and business across the UK, helping more and more people discover the benefits of generating their own clean energy. As well as installing for homeowners we're experienced in working with all sectors, including commercial, agriculture and public sector, and with contractors, architects, planners and community groups.
We were established in 2007 and have been independent since the beginning.
We're not tied to any manufacturer, so can recommend the best solar panels for each individual customer. With an emphasis on quality design and engineering, an honest, no-pressure approach to sales and an excellent track record for customer service, we've built up an unrivalled reputation in the industry.

About our solar panels, inverters and monitoring systems
Being a leading solar panel installer we have invested a lot of time into selecting the most appropriate products for our installs. Our aim is to provide a wide enough range of products to meet all of our customers’ needs, but not too many to make our offer sound confusing. In every case, we’re happy to consult with you to select the best components for your individual circumstance.
Solar Panels
We offer a choice of panels from well-known household names to specialist solar pv manufacturers. Our range stretches from the best value-for-money modules to those with the highest efficiency on the market. High efficiency panels are great for maximising the output of smaller roof spaces, whereas other panels may be a great choice where roof space is at a premium. We currently offer a selection of solar panels that fit into three distinct categories, our bronze, silver and gold products. Inverters
Inverters are the equipment that makes utilising the electricity generated feasible to use within the home and to export to the grid. They convert direct current from the system into alternating current, which can be used within your home. Whilst all inverters do the same job, different models are better suited to different systems for a number of reasons. Other than maximum capacity, different inverters may be selected for the monitoring options they offer, the location they may be sited in or their efficiency. Solar Thermal Panels
Solar thermal panels, or solar thermal collectors come in two varieties - flat plate and evacuated tubes. Both types product similar amounts of hot water, however they also have their own unique benefits. Evacuated tubes are more efficient than flat plate collectors, meaning they take up less roof space. Flat plate collectors may be more suitable for homeowners when roof space is at a premium. Our Solar Thermal technology page discusses each thermal technology option in more detail.
Monitoring Systems
Monitoring systems are not required to run a solar energy system. They can be installed on both solar pv and solar thermal systems as an optional extra. Monitoring systems usually display real time information about your system’s generation, and can be wall mounted or small handheld portable displays. Who is EvoEnergy?
EvoEnergy is the solar panel company that will be installing the panels, and we’ll need to arrange a day to visit your house and do a site survey. It won’t take long, but it’s important we can come in. Once we have surveyed your property we’ll use that information to see whether your home’s suitable.
Why does solar power matter?
Every time you switch on the TV or boil the kettle, most of the electricity you use will come from fossil fuels like coal. As a country, we rely too heavily on fossil fuels, and we’re using our supplies up too quickly. That means it’s really important we find different ways to generate electricity, and solar power is a really good option.
How does it work?
Solar pv panels use the sun’s light to generate electricity. The more sunlight there is, the more energy the panels will produce. This means they’ll produce more electricity in summer than they will in winter. In the daytimes they will produce the most electricity at midday, when the sunlight is strongest.
How to make the most of solar power:
If you have solar on your roof, you’ll get cheaper electricity bills. That’s because every time you switch on an appliance when there’s sunlight outside, your power will come from your panels instead of your electricity supplier.
Here are a couple of tips for making your bills as cheap as possible:
- When using your washing machine, try to switch it on at midday when the panels are producing the most electricity. That way the electricity it uses should be free.
- If you need to use lots of different appliances in one day, like your washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher, put them on at different times. If you use too many appliances at once you may be using more electricity than the panels are producing.
How long do the panels last?
Solar pv panels will produce electricity for at least 25 years. There are no moving parts so there’s nothing to go wrong, and they need very little maintenance.

- As long as there’s daylight outside, the panels will be producing electricity
- Electricity from your solar panels is free, so if you use appliances at the right time of day your bills will be cheaper
