Challenge

Cranswick’s goal was to decarbonise operations and integrate renewable energy across its production sites.

The Eye facility, like others in the food manufacturing sector, required all installation works to be carried out with strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene protocols.

This project formed part of Cranswick’s wider commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), focused on driving measurable reductions in direct and indirect emissions.

We designed and installed a 1.5 MWp rooftop solar PV system at Cranswick Eye, comprising 4,000 solar panels.

The system was tailored to meet the site’s energy demands while maximising on-site generation.

All works were carefully coordinated to align with Cranswick’s operational and safety standards, ensuring no disruption to production.

The solar PV system at Eye now generates an estimated 1,387,000 kWh of renewable electricity annually—cutting Cranswick’s carbon footprint by over 323,000 kg of CO₂e per year.

This installation is part of a wider rollout across Cranswick’s UK sites, strengthening the company’s sustainability credentials and reinforcing its leadership in environmentally responsible food manufacturing.
