It is now possible to use programmable room thermostats which allow you to set different room temperatures for different times of the day and night. When programmed appropriately these can remove the need to ever heat the home from cold, by maintaining set temperatures in your different rooms throughout the day and night.
It is possible to use a programmable room thermostat in place of traditional controllers and combine them with Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRVs) to control your homes heating system.
