This month, the leading discount supermarket, Aldi, opens the doors to its 9th regional distribution centre in Cardiff which will become a key hub for the distribution of its products to the Wales and South West England regions.
This latest addition to its distribution centres is equipped with a 1.5 MWp rooftop solar PV array that was completed by EvoEnergy in March 2016, with work brought ahead of schedule to ensure that Aldi would receive the maximum subsidy ahead of the proposed cuts to the Government’s ROC support.

The large array is set to generate around 1.4 GWh of green electricity every year, helping to power the busy operations and cold storage onsite in the main facility.
The Cardiff array was the second project that EvoEnergy have completed for Aldi, via the main contractor, DSP Construction. In 2015, EvoEnergy also installed a 2.1 MWp array on the previously built site in Bolton which has since generated over 1.5 GWh of electricity onsite since going live.
