The National Ice Centre (Capital FM Arena) in Nottingham won the ‘First Steps to Sustainability’ award at the Nottingham Post Environmental awards this month after submitting an entry based around their investment in solar, installed by EvoEnergy last year.
Following the installation last year, the 250kWp array consisting of 1040 panels has outperformed predictions and has saved them over £40,000 on energy bills in the first year.
Their investment into solar was also incentivised around giving one of Nottingham’s biggest landmarks an eco-friendly status, which naturally lead them to enter the Environmental awards.
EvoEnergy Marketing Manager, Jordan Mawbey, comments “It’s fantastic that the National Ice Centre has participated in the awards on the back of our solar pv installation and we are thrilled to hear that they won their chosen category. Ultimately, we are here to help companies become more ‘green’ and for one of our clients to have their green objectives recognised by a local award is an achievement for both our client and EvoEnergy”.
