GREEN TARIFFS OVERVIEW
There are a range of different tariffs for customers producing their own electricity. This article aims to help find which deal is best for you by looking at a range of the best deals available. Schemes involve Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs). These are a statutory means for measuring the amount of electricity produced by renewable.
ROCs can be traded amongst electricity suppliers to meet their renewable energy targets. As of April 2009, two ROCS are awarded where 1000kWh of renewable electricity has been produced, and each is worth around £37. ROCs can be handled in different ways. Most commonly companies act as ROC agents and claim the certificates from Ofgem on behalf of the customers, others do not claim for the customer and hence it is their responsibility.
We strongly recommend working with a utility company who will act as an agent for your ROCs and will pass on a saving/earning of approximately 7p/kWh although this is parcelled up in three different manners as detailed below.

FIND OUT WHICH GREEN TARIFF IS BEST FOR YOU
EvoEnergy understand that the tariffs offered by Ecotricity may not be suitable for everyone so we have listed the best of the other schemes available below so you can see what is available.
Green Tariff- Get Paid All Generation:
Some electricity suppliers will pay you a set price for ALL the power you generate, whether you use it or not, just like Ecotricity. These schemes are most beneficial for smaller systems where most of the electricity will be used onsite and little exported to the grid. This means you are getting paid for everything you generate and as you are no longer buying electricity from the grid you are saving around 13p/kWh too! The values below do not take this 13p into consideration.

Green Tariff- Get Paid For Surplus Generation (Export):

A number of electricity suppliers provide deals that pay customers for surplus generation. Scottish and Southern, SWALEC, Scottish Power, E-On and EDF Energy. The information below shows the best deals on offer to you, by far the best is provided by Scottish and Southern.
