Applying for a Grant for a Solar Photovoltaic System

The Low Carbon Building Programme is a UK scheme open to any resident, which provides a grant of up to £2,500 for domestic solar PV systems.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR A GRANT FOR A SOLAR PV SYSTEM?

The Low Carbon Building Programme is a UK scheme open to any resident.  If some basic energy saving measures are taken in the home then the grant is straight-forward to apply for and is worth £2,500 (strictly speaking it is £2,000 per kWp up to a maximum of £2,500, but EvoEnergy don't install systems smaller than 1.26 kWp). In Scotland there is a home renewables grant available, worth 30% of the cost of a system (up to a maximum of £4000).

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A GRANT FOR MY SOLAR PV SYSTEM?

To apply for the LCBP grant, there is a simple online application form. The grant application can be filled in on paper, but this is a slow process, whereas the online system is quick, automated and much easier to fill in. Please see below for a worked example.

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW TO FILL IN THE GRANT APPLICATION FOR MY SOLAR PV SYSTEM?

EvoEnergy will provide you with all the information that you need to complete the application: the most important things being equipment manufacturer, model, power rating, and accredited installer.

WHAT HAPPENS ONCE THE GRANT APPLICATION FOR MY SOLAR PV SYSTEM HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL?

Once the grant application process has been completed, you will receive a grant offer letter (EvoEnergy are happy to check over this letter if you require).
The £2,500 can be claimed back once the solar PV system has been installed.
