CENTRAL GOVERNMENT GRANTS
The main stream of funding for the public sector has been the Low Carbon Building Programme Phase 2. However, the money in this pot ended in December 2009. There is no news on whether new money will be assigned, but it might be referred to in the Department of Energy and Climate Change's announcement due some time in February.
The expectation however is that there will be no new grants available from this source. Please note this is not the same source of funding as residential homeowner grants which are expected to last until 31st March 2010.
LOTTERY FUNDING
There are grants available for all renewable technologies from the Community and Sustainable Energy Partnership (CSEP) for Not For Profit and public sector organisations. They can cover up to 50% of the money, but are very competitive and highly sought after. Please contact us if you have any questions about these grants as they require significant effort and can't be undertaken lightly.
UTILITY COMPANIES
There are various 'green grants' available from most of the large utility companies. Although these are primarily a marketing vehicle they still result in money to a worthwhile cause so shouldn't be sniffed at. If you can imagine your organisation looking good on a glossy brochure for a corporate machine these are worth considering.
